[BTP News] Bluegrass Transit Photography News to be Replaced by News Site Co-owned by BTP

 Bluegrass Transit Photography News, which was a Bluegrass Transit Photography (BTP) sub-brand, has ceased operations on 28 August 2025. The news platform, which was hosted on BTP's website, began operations on 8 July 2025 with the publication of the article Transport Discussion Blog SG Transport Critic To Rebrand As Singapore Transport Collective.

BTP News Replacement

On the same day as the closure of BTP News, a joint venture between Bluegrass Transit Photography and K-pop fan organisation Singapore K-pop Multistan Association (SKMA) acquired dormant news site SG Transit Info and re-branded it into Transit & Waves. SG Transit Info was a dormant news site that housed content targeted towards transport enthusiasts, in a final post by the old management, the old management of SG Transit Info cited the lack of resources to continue maintaining a dormant news site as the reason for the sale of SG Transit Info to the joint venture.

Transit & Waves, which commenced operations on 28 August 2025, right after it's re-brand, will takeover all news reporting operations that were previously operated under BTP News. Transit & Waves, a BTP X SKMA news site, aims to provide an alternative to existing mainstream media reporting about transport and K-pop fans by conducting journalism from within the hobby communities themselves.

[BTP HQ] Bluegrass Transit Photography Brand Converted From Personal Blog To Organization

As announced on Instagram earlier today, the Bluegrass Transit Photography brand has been converted from a personal blog to a organization since 15 August 2025 at 1800hrs Singapore Time.

The changes that took place included the transfer of control of Bluegrass Transit Photography's Instagram to the organization and the shift of publication of owner Jared Ong (aka svc974bsoe)'s solo activities in the transport enthusiasm community to a new 'svc974bsoe' Instagram account.

But what about Bluegrass Transit Photography blog operations?

For the Bluegrass Transit Photography Blog, operations of the blog will be transferred over to the control of the Bluegrass Transit Photography (Organization). All future posts concerning svc974bsoe's solo activities within the transport enthusiast community will have 'svc974bsoe' reflected in it's title. As for posts in the past that concern svc974bsoe's activities, they will receive a 'svc974bsoe' tag in their title and a disclaimer will be added into those posts.

How does ownership of the Bluegrass Transit Photography brand work?

The Bluegrass Transit Photography brand currently remains under the sole ownership and control of Jared Ong. However, it does not mean a switch to a multi-individual management framework for the brand can't happen.

Why was the Bluegrass Transit Photography brand converted in the first place?

The conversion was done to allow the provision of converting the brand from a sole ownership management framework to a multi-individual management framework.

Converting the brand into a organization also allows the Bluegrass Transit Photography and ithe people it manages to have independent views that do not represent each other if need.

Finally, conversion to a organization also makes it possible for the brand to own or operate entities under a organization instead of a personal ownership.
